Description

Sometimes you know something in your production ministry isn’t healthy—but you don’t yet know what to fix first.

The same problem keeps coming back.

It affects more than one area.

Different people see different causes.

Or the situation simply feels too large to tackle all at once.

The 30-Day Healthy Production Reset gives you a focused way to work one meaningful production problem without trying to rebuild the entire ministry.

This is a reset, not a rebuild.

For 30 days, you’ll keep the work centered on one significant problem.

You’ll clarify what keeps happening, identify what it is costing the ministry, decide what is—and is not—part of the Reset, put clear responsibility around the work, make a small number of stabilizing changes, and watch what actually happens.

By the end of the 30 days, the goal is not perfection.

The goal is clarity, healthier conditions, useful evidence, and a better decision about what should happen next.

The 30-Day path

The Reset moves through five focused phases:

FOCUS — Days 1–4
Turn frustration into a useful problem statement. Define what you’re working on, where the work starts and stops, what better would look like, and what you’ll actually be able to observe if things improve.

OWN — Days 5–7
Turn “we should” into clear responsibility. Identify who is responsible for moving the work forward, who can make or support decisions, who needs to contribute, and who needs to stay informed.

STABILIZE — Days 8–14
Change the conditions—not the whole system. Choose a few practical actions that reduce immediate friction, confusion, or risk and give the team enough breathing room to work differently.

LEARN — Days 15–24
Run. Observe. Adjust lightly. Give the new way enough repetition to see what is actually changing, what still breaks, and what the team is learning.

HANDOFF — Days 25–30
Finish the work. Keep the learning. Decide what should continue, what should stop, what belongs with another leader, and whether the remaining work belongs in one of the five Healthy Production Playbooks.

What you’ll work through

The Reset includes practical pages and tools to help you:

  • define one recurring production problem
  • establish a clear 30-day boundary
  • describe what better should look like
  • identify visible signs of improvement
  • clarify responsibility and decision support
  • choose up to three stabilizing actions
  • capture what actually changes
  • determine where deeper work belongs
  • finish with a clear next decision

When the Reset is useful

The Reset is especially helpful when a production problem is:

recurring — you keep dealing with the same issue again and again

unclear — people agree something is wrong but disagree about why

connected — the problem touches several parts of the ministry

overwhelming — you need a smaller first step before taking on deeper work

significant enough to address now — but not something that can be solved by simply trying harder next weekend

When you probably don’t need the Reset

If the problem is already clearly rooted in one Healthy Production pillar and your team is ready for deeper work, go directly to the appropriate Playbook.

The Reset is optional.

It is not a sixth Healthy Production pillar, another Assessment, or a requirement everyone must complete before using the Framework.

The Healthy Production Assessment does not automatically assign the Reset.

Where the Reset leads

Healthy Production is built across five connected pillars:

Ministry — why production exists and what matters.

Leadership — how responsibility is distributed, developed, and multiplied.

People — how people are recruited, placed, equipped, cared for, developed, and sustained.

Systems — how work becomes clear, consistent, repeatable, and improving.

Stewardship — how time, money, technology, facilities, and capacity are managed faithfully and sustainably.

The Reset helps you create enough clarity to determine where the deeper work belongs.

Thirty days won’t fix everything.

But thirty intentional days can make the next right work much clearer.
